Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. Jan 1– Before departing for the Australian Open, BallenIsles Country Club’s Member residents and world-class tennis sensations, Venus and Serena Williams teamed up in doubles matches on the Stadium Court of the Club’s state-of-the-art Sports Complex.

The celebrity tennis exhibition on December 22, pit the Williams sisters against Brenda Schultz-McCarthy who holds the world record for the fastest serve and Nicole Melichar from Stuart, Florida who has won two singles and four doubles titles on the ITF tour in her career.

The Williams sisters also took on Serena’s hitting partner Sasha Bajin and BallenIsles USPTA Pro 1 Ricardo Mendivil.
“Venus and Serena’s competitiveness on court, is matched only by how incredibly close they are off court which makes them a formidable doubles team like no other,” Exhibition Director and BallenIsles Tennis Director Trish Faulkner said.
The Celebrity Tennis Exhibition was complimentary to Members and their guests, with voluntary donations to benefit the Serena Williams Foundation, which assists families affected by violent crimes throughout the U.S. and also helps high school students who wish to continue their education to build a better world.
“Serena and I enjoy playing with each other on the Stadium Court in an event that entertains members and benefits such a worthy cause,” Venus said.
