The dry season broke all records. But did it change attitudes?

The recent dry season, which ended in May, was the driest ever recorded, according to records dating back to 1932. Florida history shows that those years that brought extreme weather events were often followed closely by seismic changes in public policy relating to water. (The floods of ’47 and ’71, for example, largely shaped the current water management system.)

So will the great dry season of 2008-2009 be one of those pivotal years?

The Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties asks this and other questions in a recent study. They want residents to check it out and take some time to fill out the survey posted on the study’s website.
