New York, NY. Jan 24 – Schulz Academy, an international soccer residency program which trains and positions talented soccer players in clubs abroad, celebrated its “National Coach of the Year” Award to the program’s founder and Head Coach Dr. Josef Schulz in a big way.
On January 11, 2012, NewsMark Public Relations issued a media release and photograph celebrating the Club’s latest Award, headlined: “National Coach of the Year Award to Dr. Josef Schulz – Former coach of Jozy Altidore.”
The Club was delighted that the photograph and headline were displayed in the news feed rotation on the 7,400 sq ft Reuters Sign in Times Square. The Reuters Sign soars 23 stories into the sky above Times Square, and is the world’s largest digital display system, reaching more than 1.5 million people per day. The digital billboard features a rolling roster of photos throughout each day accompanied by news release headlines.
Dr. Schulz, the former coach of soccer standout Jozy Altidore was awarded “National Coach of the Year” by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
“This is a great honor indeed and as part of our celebration, we’re expanding the Schulz Academy residency program for boys and girls to an outstanding $70 million Soccer Complex in Ft. Lauderdale”, Dr. Schulz said. The Complex includes a main event stadium, which can seat up to 15,000 people for the Academy’s PDL games.
“Schulz Academy is preparing players who are High School or college students for successful tryouts in Europe and to sign professional contracts at soccer leagues all over the world. We’re equally focused on academic education to best position scholarships at colleges or universities in the US or abroad. Even when our players sign professional contracts abroad, their academic education must continue while they’re playing professionally in other countries.” Dr. Schulz added.
Altidore, a striker on the United States men’s national soccer team, is also one of the top goal scorers as a forward for Dutch club AZ Alkmaar, the current leader in Holland’s top division. Dr. Schulz coached Altidore from the young age of 8 years old until the young soccer phenom’s professional debut with the MLS at 16.
