PARIS, FRANCE, Oct 9 — More than 30 years since his triumphant showing at the Benefit for the restoration of the Theatre at the Palace of Versailles, changed the perception of American fashion on the world stage, fashion icon Stephen Burrows unveiled his Spring/Summer collection in Paris.

Burrows presented his new collection on Sunday, October 8th in Salle Soufflot at Le Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, as part of the French Fashion Week under the auspices of the Chambre Syndicale.

“This was Stephen’s first return to the Paris runway since that historic event at Versailles in 1973, which presented him with a global view of fashion and we’re pleased that the Chambre Syndicale has welcomed him back with open arms,” said Burrows’ Managing Director, John Robert Miller.

The recipient of the CFDA’s Board of Director’s Special Tribute, Burrows is credited with helping validate American design as a viable force in the industry when as a young designer he was invited alongside Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta, Halston and Anne Klein to show his collection on the stage at Versailles with those of French couturiers. Recognized by the American Fashion Industry with a star on New York City’s Fashion Walk of Fame, his distinguished career includes three American Fashion Critics’ Coty Awards.
