Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. May 14 – Palm Beach County School District’s top ‘Business/School Partnership’ Award for 2011-2012 in the category of Community Leader has been presented to BallenIsles Community Volunteers.

This GOLD Award, the highest honor awarded in the Palm Beach County School District Business Partnership Recognition Awards, was presented in recognition of BallenIsles Community Volunteers’ work with Allamanda Elementary School, located in Palm Beach Gardens.

“I am extremely proud of this recognition, on behalf of the many BallenIsles women and men who regularly volunteer at the school,” said BallenIsles Member Rebecca Cohen who received the gold plaque on behalf of the volunteer group.

Presented during the annual Volunteers and Business Partnership ceremony at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, the awards recognize exemplary business and education partnerships that are innovative, have an impact on student achievement or represent a long-time commitment to education.

The Silver award in this category went to the City of Palm Beach Gardens with the Bronze going to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

As part of a series of financial grants recently awarded by the newly formed BallenIsles Charities Foundation to 15 area organizations serving the community, Allamanda Elementary School will be able to purchase books for its classroom libraries project ‘Readers Make Successful Leaders,’ and iPads for exceptional needs students.
