Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. July 26 – BallenIsles Junior Cup 2012. The storied golf courses at BallenIsles Country Club, where many golf legends originally qualified for the PGA Tour made TV sports news headlines again last week with great coverage from the local TV affiliates of NBC, CBS, FOX News and ESPN.
The second annual BallenIsles Junior Cup showcased golf’s next generation of male and female rising stars and teed off July 19 – 22. BallenIsles historic championship East Course, where legendary players like Jack Nicklaus and Julius Boros and Sam Snead won PGA Championships, was the fitting setting for the second year of the Ryder Cup format tournament.
36 accomplished junior golfers competed in a four-ball front nine, followed by foursomes on the back that featured singles matches on 18 holes. Sponsors Cleveland Golf, Srixon and Scholarship For Athletes helped roll out the red carpet on a superb event.
