Ryan Walls, who has been with Troon since 1996, will now manage the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., property, which recently approved plans for a $35 million renovation. Rob DeMore, who has served as Senior Vice President of Troon Privé since 2016, has been promoted to President of the division.
On the heels of approving a $35 million clubhouse renovation, BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., has named Troon Privé Division President Ryan Walls as its new General Manager/COO.
“We are extremely pleased to announce Ryan Walls as our new general manager and COO, and feel that his multifaceted background makes him uniquely qualified to lead the operations of our club,” said BallenIsles Board of Directors President Dr. Jack Cook.
Walls is a 20-year member of the PGA of America and a former Horton Smith Award winner. Since joining Troon in 1996, his operational leadership positions have included directing the company’s Australia, Asia & Pacific divisions. Prior to being appointed president of Troon Privé in 2016, he served as Troon’s senior vice president of operations, overseeing a number of multi-course properties and Troon’s sales and marketing department.
BallenIsles’ $35 million clubhouse renovation is expected to be complete in the fall of 2018. It will see the expansion of its 72,000-sq. ft. clubhouse grow to 114,900 sq. ft. and feature a grand redesigned 19th hole on the clubhouse terrace offering views of the East Golf Course.
Troon has promoted Rob DeMore to president of its Troon Privé Division, replacing Walls. DeMore has served as senior vice president of Troon Privé since fall of 2016 and has more than twenty years of blended hospitality and golf experience.
“Rob has been an integral part of the growth of Troon’s private club management services business over the past 10-plus years and is a highly talented and multi-faceted executive,” said Mike Ryan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “We are proud and pleased with the company’s depth of talent and the opportunities it affords.”
